Three men were charged today with playing hurling in Loughrea on July 21st last¹. The prosecutors claimed that the arrests were valid (under Lord French’s proclamation) and that the defendants had been shouting “Up De Valera”.
Verdicts for the three accused – Joseph Connor, Joseph Ford and Tadhg Scorry – was adjourned to the next itting of the Loughrea Petty Sessions.
