The Western People reports¹ that policemen from the districts of Westport, Castlebar, Balla, Claremorris, Kiltimagh, Swinford, Ballindine, Castlerea and Ballinlough were sent to Ballyhaunis today (Lady’s Day) to prevent an announced Sinn Fein meeting in the Market Square . It was reported that the nationalists held their meeting in Cloonfarna ( 2 miles away) instead.
