A local Justice of the Peace (JP), J G Alcorn, was shot at by 3 masked men, as he and another man was driving to Mass this morningĀ¹. He was wounded by pellets but was able to make it to the church in Correndulla. HeĀ subsequently recovered. A local widow and her sons – tenants 0f the JP – had been served with eviction – their relatives were questioned in connection with the attack but released.
